Virginie Lamarche and Bastien Desfriches Doria, whose photography company is called VNB, launched the inaugural Vancouver Creatives project last year. Version Two is now officially underway. Submissions are free; any and all creative companies, entrepreneurs, and individuals are encouraged to enter until February 15, 2015.
The goal of this collaboration is to build tomorrow’s creative legacy today by vesting some of the best established YVR talents with the task of recognizing and supporting young and emerging creators of significance in Vancouver.
Vancouver Creatives has recruited the curatorial expertise of 11 prestigious jurors, all Vancouverites representing the city’s most creative and successful enterprises, including Niels Bendtsen, Michael Green, Hajnalka Mandula, Marie Khouri, and our very own editor, Jim Tobler. Once the call concludes, the jury will individually select their own 20 nominees from all valid entries, then collectively determine 20 winners during a private jury meeting.
The Vancouver Creatives 2 Legacy Exhibition will take place at Make Gallery from June 4 through July 3, 2015. A free, public opening reception will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6:00–10:00 p.m.
