Bottles from New Zealand

The wine.

New Zealand’s wine industry as a unified front has been telling the world the 2013 vintage, certainly for sauvignon blanc,  is the vintage of a lifetime. For an already great producer like Kim Crawford, with a long track record, this means a clean, fresh, lively bottle of wine at a great price: $20.  The “sleeper” is the Nobilo Regional Collection sauvignon blanc, light straw colour with vivid pineapple notes and a fantastic mineral, almost flinty finish. At $18, this wine might make your plan of a return trip to the wine store an expeditious one.
