Demetra by Artemide

The lamp.

Respected Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa—whose Muji’s CD player is part of the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection—brings his minimalist lines to Artemide with Demetra. The lamp’s perceived simplicity is counterbalanced by its technological complexity; the external aluminum tension control cables add a beautiful tautness to the overall design. Another nice touch: the tiltable and rotatable diffuser features an incorporated dimmer switch or integrated motion sensor.

Demetra comes in three iterations, for floor, table, or wall. Named after Demeter, the Greek goddess of harvest and fertility, this sleek yet highly functional lamp is sure to cultivate a creative work environment.
