Railtown Cafe

You can sit with us.

Railtown Cafe, located east of Gastown in Vancouver’s Railtown neighbourhood, has been a local favourite since it opened in 2012. The cafe first caught the attention and appetites of in-the-know local residents—designers, techies, and artists—who flocked there for lunches and a cozy off-site work spot. Chefs Dan Olson and Tyler Day’s dedication to delicious, locally-sourced fare, has kept the crowd coming back. Olson and Day have strong culinary pedigrees, having worked at Guy Lassausaie and Raymond Blanc restaurants, respectively (both Michelin-star establishments).

From baked goods (bread is made fresh on site) to savoury sandwiches like the Pork, the Reuben, and the Chicken Club, presented at the front counter, it’s hard not to want to try everything. Salad lovers can create their own from a vast array of fresh produce, or revisit classics such as the Chop or the Caesar. Fine roasted coffee, cold pressed juice, or local beers are also available to round out your meal.

Olson and Day are upping the ante. In addition to a second Main Street location due to open next year, the duo’s flavours are now available for hire throughout the Metro Vancouver area via their recently launched Railtown Catering, which takes their fare to the next level with accompanying services such as floral arrangements, entertainment, and even valet.
