There are only a very few in-house perfumers, also called noses, in the world, and one of them, François Demachy, creates for Christian Dior. Demachy’s latest conception, Sauvage, is the brand’s first men’s fragrance in 10 years. Sauvage means wild in French, and this is the impetus for the sophisticated, sensual scent, which, frankly, wears immaculately well on both men and women. Packaged in a simple, masculine glass bottle with magnetic top, Sauvage is a toast to the history of scent-making at Dior while at the same time presenting something inherently unique to this time, this place, this moment of inhibition.
