Ballet BC opens the 2013-14 season with Tilt, featuring Johan Inger’s Walking Mad, the ballet’s riveting hit from last year. Set to Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero”, Walking Mad is a mesmerizing performance by nine dancers that reflects upon Socrates’s thought that “our greatest blessings come to us by way of madness”. Tilt also includes two brand new works, both of which are world premiers. One is choreographed by Boston Ballet’s resident choreographer Jorma Elo and the other by Ballet BC’s own artistic director Emily Molnar. Yours truly got a backstage pass to rehearsals of the three works, which will run October 17 – 19 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
