The Vancouver Christmas Market

Christmas in the haus.

The fifth annual Vancouver Christmas Market at the Queen Elizabeth Plaza, featuring downtown Vancouver’s only Christmas carousel, has returned with more festive cheer. Fast becoming a staple on the holiday circuit, the German-themed market made up of brightly decorated wooden huts is home to more than 45 vendors, providing an assortment of handmade goods, unique gifts, and delicious food.

Deck the halls with handmade German ornaments from Käthe Wohlfahrt and Lauscha Glass Ornaments, then light up the night with a Herrnhuter Stern—a traditional German nativity star—from German Stars, Lights and Decorations. Visit Gingerbread Haus for European gingerbread specialties and other Christmas classics. There’s also plenty of tasty fare: from freshly baked waffles from Das Waffelhaus to warm strudels from Sven’s Bakery, German Cake & Cookies, and Bratapfel from Das Apfelhaus, choosing what to try may be the toughest decision of the day. With an unlimited all-access season’s pass with any paid ticket, you can return to try them all.
