There’s no doubt that Vancouverites and tourists are familiar with the lengthy lines outside Bella Gelateria on West Cordova Street in the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, and know its old-world, handcrafted gelato is well worth the wait. Recipient of numerous international accolades, including 2014 Gelato Master of the Year, owner and maestro James Coleridge has now opened a second location, this time in Yaletown.
Situated along the False Creek seawall, the second Bella Gelateria is almost three times the size of its Coal Harbour counterpart. Along with its award-winning gelato, the new shop will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including Napolitano Pizza and Gelatinis (delicious gelato martinis). The store will also serve as a classroom for aspiring gelato masters, with the first North American branch of the prestigious Carpigiani Gelato University. With restaurants scheduled to open in Kitsilano, Main Street, and West Vancouver in the coming months, could world domination be far off?
