Hester Creek Old Vines Trebbiano

The wine.

It is white wine grown and made in the Okanagan Valley, on the Golden Mile Bench to be exact, and it is the only trebbiano in Canada. Judging from what this wine is like, others are bound to try their hand at it, too. Hester Creek Old Vines (40 years) Trebbiano 2013 is a cool-ferment beauty, with lovely citrus and honey notes, and an unctuous mouth-feel and fantastic acidity. Put it all together and you have a perfect summer sipper, best enjoyed with fine company as the barbecue grill warms up, $23.
