Feed the World with Michael Kors’ Watch Hunger Stop

According to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), 821 million people go to bed hungry every night. In support of World Food Day on October 16, American fashion house Michael Kors returns with its annual Watch Hunger Stop campaign. Now in its seventh-year, the global initiative raises funds for the WFP and its school meals program in order to feed underprivileged students around the world. To date, the campaign has funded more than 18 million meals.

Joined by Academy Award-winning actor turned ambassador Lupita Nyong’o, Michael Kors has released a special-edition collection under the theme “Food is Love.” A unisex t-shirt (available in black or white) and a black canvas tote with leather handles are both available online and at all Michael Kors lifestyle stores.

The American company is also leveraging the power of social media in support of the cause. When a customer wears and promotes the collection using the hashtag #watchhungerstop, Michael Kors will donate 100 meals to the WFP in addition to the 100 per cent of profits already raised and donated. If the collection sells out, direction donations can be made to the WFP in store throughout October.

The Watch Hunger Stop collection is available at all Michael Kors locations including CF Pacific Centre, Oakridge Centre, Metropolis at Metrotown, and online at michaelkors.ca.

Continue making a difference.
