A reinvention of these toile de Jouy patterns, featuring a bestiary in shades of blue, appears on Dior’s new earthenware collection, including dinner and dessert plates, a trinket bowl, and a vase.

Bang & Olufsen x Riva
When young Italian shipwright Pietro Riva earned his reputation for fine craftsmanship in the 1840s, the world’s first audio recording was still two decades away. Today, Riva’s firm is still making fine yachts and, this autumn, is partnering with Danish audio engineers Bang & Olufsen to blend 19th-century elegance with 21st-century technology.
Louis Vuitton Pocket Watch
Yards from where the CERN particle accelerator maps the internal workings of the universe, the craftspeople at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton perform a similar task of minute precision. The Escale à Asnières Pocket Watch, with 18-karat pink gold and 3.58 carats in diamonds, encases mechanically moving coachmen, trunks, and flowers.
