Not every business idea coming down the pike makes a great deal of sense, especially in the automotive segment, but local Vancouver entrepreneur Harvey Sanghera’s Empire One exotic car club is a no-brainer in the best way.
Most exotic sports-car buyers don’t drive their cars very much. Ferraris rarely see 2,000 kilometres on their odometers in a single year, making ownership a losing business proposition. Sanghera realizes that top-tier business people detest throwing money away, but also that they value the opportunity to drive the world’s finest sport and luxury vehicles for important business engagements, for nights out on the town, or even simply for the thrill of driving the best of the best. With the purchase of a Bentley Continental GT Speed, Sanghera’s car club was born. Not a bad start.
Since its inception, the stable has grown to include a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Porsche 911 GT3, Ferrari F430 Spyder F1, Aston Martin Vantage Roadster, Audi R8, and the list goes on. All of these vehicles can be taken out for a spin for 24-hour periods or for multiple days at a time. And individual and corporate memberships are available for less money per month than it would cost to finance a top-level car. Interested new members are also always welcome to tour the facilities. In the case of Empire One, membership certainly has its privileges.
