Barter Design showcases the work of craftsmen true to their trade in and around the Pacific Northwest. The Sunshine Coast-based company boasts minimalist collections of modern terracotta bowls and hand-sanded red cedar garden planters, along with a particularly striking offering of candlesticks. The Candlestick Grove Series is made from hand-melted beeswax (which is moulded in a slug of steel) by Abbotsford’s Timothy Dyck. These sophisticated sticks come in three different heights that, when lit together, resemble an assemblage of alder trees.
