Simplicity and quality—these aspects of furniture design are incredibly important, and yet, often hard to master. Hitting both in stride is the Emeco’s new Alfi Collection by Jasper Morrison, which suggests that what cannot be seen is just as valuable as what can. The collection’s chair design has a seat made of 100 per cent reclaimed post-industrial waste and comes in earthy colours; the base is composed of locally-sourced, responsibly-harvested ash wood that was constructed by Amish craftsmen. Available in Western Canada through Inform, the Alfi Collection is an ode to slowing down and engaging in deep conversation.
