Vancouver Saint Laurent Boutique

In style.

Vancouver’s growing luxury corridor is a little more sultry thanks to the newly opened Saint Laurent boutique—the French brand’s first stand-alone store in all of Canada.

Taking its design direction from the concept introduced in 2012 by then-creative director Hedi Slimane, the Vancouver location, on Thurlow near Prada, Moncler, Brunello Cucinelli, and Versace, focuses on monochrome and marble, giving it a sophisticated and moody aesthetic that is so well paired with the products it displays. Both menswear and womenswear, including shoes and handbags, will be available at the flagship, which is one of North America’s largest. Its simple lines, refined use of precious metals, and extended white space provide a sense of tranquil desire.

Now under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent continues its massive growth spurt, in April once again reporting a double-digit progression in revenue. Founded by Yves Saint Laurent, who got his start at none other than Christian Dior, the brand has become synonymous with the perfect leather jacket, as well as prideful equal emphasis on men and women. It combines the season’s new designs with brand staples that appear again and again, creating icons within its collections; the YSL man and woman know how to effortlessly meld yesterday and today. As Saint Laurent himself once said, “fashions fade, style is eternal.”
