Between 7,000 and 8,000 boats were destroyed in Indonesia alone after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and resulting tsunami. But seeing potential in the kaleidoscopic timber, local artisans are giving the salvaged wood new life as benches, stools, coffee and dining tables, and entertainment units.
