These Award-Winning Vancouver Restaurants Now Offer Takeout

As the new normal of staying home sets in, finding something that will lift your spirits is important. Perhaps you are celebrating a birthday or an anniversary, or maybe you just need to give yourself a real treat.

Whatever the occasion—and, honestly, wanting to eat something truly delicious is reason enough—Vancouver’s best restaurants are here to help, offering takeout dishes sure to transport your taste buds, and hopefully your mood, to another place.

St. Lawrence

J-C Poirier’s elevated, Québécois-inspired restaurant is known for its unapologetically decadent menu, featuring rich sauces redolent with butter, impeccable pâtés en croûe, and desserts worth every delicious calorie.

Now, with the launch of St. Lawrence à la Maison, family-style meals can be picked up curbside from the Railtown eatery on designated dates. A full meal, including main, sides, dinner rolls, and dessert, is offered on a rotating menu for $47 per person, with partial proceeds donated to Union Gospel Mission.

Dishes on the upcoming menus include poulet à la crème with rice pilaf; navarin of lamb; and for Easter Sunday and Monday, lapin à la moutarde served with gnocchi. Vegetarian options are available on request, and select bottles of wine from the cellar are available to add to your order.

Blue Water Cafe / CinCin / Elisa / Thierry

Vancouver’s Toptable group of restaurants have joined together to form Toptable2U, offering a menu of takeout dishes from across their kitchens. Choose from signature dishes such as Blue Water Cafe’s miso marinated sablefish, CinCin’s veal and pork Bolognese casarecce, or one of Elisa’s exceptional steaks.

Available sides include salads, salmon terrine, and Yukon Gold potato purée. Finish up with a cookie, pie, or just a delicious bar of chocolate from Thierry.

Select groceries are also available, as are beers and bottles of wine. Pickup is curbside at Elisa in Yaletown.

From the curbside of his award-winning Kitsilano restaurant, Angus An is offering a tantalizing menu of Thai soups, curries, and stir-fries, including tom ka gai, Penang beef or chicken, and three-flavour halibut cheek.
Add in his excellent pad Thai, a few beers, or a bottle of wine, and you might (almost) imagine yourself back in Koh Samui. Delivery is available through SkipTheDishes, but pickups receive a 10 per cent discount.

Ancora False Creek

A limited selection of stellar Japanese/Peruvian fusion cuisine is available for takeout from Ancora’s False Creek location only (either for pickup or via Uber Eats).

Choose from a selection of sushi rolls and sashimi, paella, rotisserie chicken, and surf and turf, or—through April—try the set Sakura menu, including black cod croquettes or grilled beef anticucho for $39 per person, with the option of adding a bottle of rosé for $20. A select menu of wine and beer is also available at 50 per cent off.

Miku

Missing Miku’s precisely crafted aburi-style sushi? No need. Lunch and dinner is now available to order via Uber Eats, including sashimi and sushi platters, and bento boxes that offer both cooked and sushi items.

Signature pressed oshi sushi (salmon, prawn, or mackerel), rolls, nigiri, and hot and cold dishes such as miso tofu salad, salmon tataki, chicken karaage, and soba peperoncino are also available to order à la carte.
