Stag’s Hollow Wines

Tasting notes.

Stag’s Hollow 2012 Grenache – British Columbia, Canada

Lots of grenache varietal character with raspberry and strawberry fruit and savoury dried herbs, white pepper, clove, leather, and charred meat. The palate is full and soft with a good level of acidity to keep it fresh. Complex and delicious.

Stag’s Hollow 2011 Tempranillo – Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada

From vines planted in 2006, a rare example of Canadian tempranillo. The nose has lots of prune plum, toasty oak, liqueur cherry, potpourri, and spice. Flavours of leather, toasty coconut oak, spice, smoke, and orange zest with some savoury dried herbs on the finish.

Stag’s Hollow 2010 Heritage Block – Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada

This Bordeaux variety blend has some intense brambly berry fruit, violets, currants, tobacco, and dried sage. The palate combines ripe fruit with crisp, juicy acidity, and cassis, blackcurrant, plum, and dried sage. It is young and grippy but should mature nicely.
