Finnish Style, Summer Cocktails, and Luxurious Towels Are on MONTECRISTO’s July Wishlist

Marimekko Pop-up & Café

Established in Finland in 1951, Marimekko first delighted the world with its bright, bold colours and prints. Jackie Kennedy went on to buy a series of dresses for her husband’s presidential campaign, while Carrie Bradshaw wore the brand’s signature flowered Unikko bikini in the second season of Sex and the City. Canada’s Holt Renfrew keeps the Scandinavian dream alive with a Marimekko pop-up and café take-over in Toronto and Vancouver, where new and classic fashion and lifestyle collections are on offer, as well as Finnish treats at the café throughout the month of July.

Chanel Summer 2024 Makeup Collection

Inspired by fairy tales and utopian fiction, Chanel’s summer 2024 limited-edition Jardin Imaginaire makeup collection arrives July 15 in rich, floral shades that conjure a midsummer’s eve. Vibrant colours such as chartreuse green, orange, fuchsia pink, and violet blue evoke the lushness of a summer garden filled with butterflies and blooms. The sparkling Moonlight Kiss Baume Essentiel works as a rose gold stick for cheeks, brows, nose, and corners of the eyelids, while the Stylo Ombre et Contour colours and contours eyes in electric shades such as celestial pink and neon dahlia.

Ultra Violette Supreme Hydrating Facial Screen

With broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection, Australian Ultra Violette sunscreens—dubbed “skinscreens”—have arrived in Canada with both chemical and mineral options that don’t leave a white cast. With Pentavitin, a plant-based ingredient that hydrates skin for up to 72 hours, and squalane, a natural anti-inflammatory, the Supreme Hydrating Facial Screen is a primer, moisturizer, and 50+ SPF all in one.

LOLO Tequila Cocktails

Mixed by Vancouver-based craft brewery Strathcona Beer Company, Lolo handcrafted cocktails-in-can—Tequila Lime Fizz and Honey Paloma Fizz—skip the artificial colours, sweeteners, and preservatives in favour of pure, 100 per cent agave tequila from Jalisco, fresh-squeezed grapefruit and lime juice, local B.C. honey, and mineral-rich electrolytes. Available in Strathcona Beer’s tasting room or at its new location in Lonsdale Quay opening this summer.

Hold.Me Styling Stick

Born from the chair of a stylist, Toronto’s hair-care line DesignMe focuses on cruelty-free, vegan formulas that target performance. This July, the brand launches its Hold.Me Styling Stick with plant-based candelilla wax (to seal out moisture and prolong styles), castor seed oil (to keep hair soft and shiny), and jojoba esters (to moisturize and add shine). Bonus: The paraben- and sulfate-free formula is gentle enough to use on eyebrows.

Friday Harbour Beach Towel

Sewn by hand in Vancouver, Friday Harbour’s oversized Oeko-Tex Standard-certified Cloud Towels are super-absorbent, fast-drying, and antibacterial to prevent odours from settling in from dampness, whether by beach or boat.

The Maker Lover Fragrance

The Maker brand first came to life as an award-winning hotel in Hudson, New York, courtesy of (now LVMH-owned) Fresh beauty brand founders Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg. The sensual-forward, all-natural brand has since branched out with a shop in New York, an online boutique, and fragrances, candles, and luxury lifestyle offerings. The new Lover eau de parfum joins its stable of sultry fragrances with a hypnotic, woody scent redolent of creamy sandalwood, fig, and vetiver layered with jasmine sambac and oud.

Arc’teryx’s Sun-Protection Collection

Hit the trails this summer with Arc’teryx’s Sun-protection collection featuring odour-fighting, sweat-wicking layers and built-in UPF protection.

Smith Bowen Lingerie

Designed by Renée Rechtshaffner, Vancouver-based sustainable lingerie start-up Smith Bowen creates high-end compostable lingerie made from 100 per cent organic cotton that’s hand-dyed with natural ingredients including avocado and bark. Made by an all-woman team, each piece is crafted free of synthetic chemicals, which means it’s good for your skin and the environment—and packaged sustainably too (even the hang tags are plantable seeds).

St. Tropez x Ashley Graham Golden Getaway

Skip the dangerous UV rays and start your summer glow with the St. Tropez x Ashley Graham Golden Getaway kit. Featuring a limited-edition scent with notes of coconut milk, pineapple and bergamot, lotus flower and sandalwood, the set includes self-tanning Express Bronzing mousse and Purity Bronzing face mist. Apply the mousse, then rinse off after one hour for a light glow, two hours for a golden tan, or three hours for a deep bronze. Use the spritz under or over makeup to keep your colour radiant.

Jenny Greco Jewellery

Toronto-based boutique jewellery designer Jenny Greco launches the Fragment collection that captures summer in bronze, silver, and gold. Featuring hand-cut and hand-hammered pieces such as earrings that recall the sun, the capsule collection channels an organic, industrial vibe that’s perfect for bare skin and bold statements.
