In June of this year Michael Kors announced a specially designed watch collection to exclusively support the company’s Watch Hunger Stop campaign. The new timepiece marks the second year of Michael Kors’ ongoing partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
Each watch purchased means funds are then available to provide 100 children in hunger-stricken areas with a nutritious meal. The timepiece, appropriately, is part of the brand’s 100-series, and is based on the Runway watch, its best-seller. The man himself is on record saying this new watch is as much about raising awareness as it is about raising funds. To date, nearly five million meals have been issued as part of the WFP, and Kors wants this to “add to the momentum”.
The watch itself is rose gold-tone stainless steel, with a detailed map of the world etched on the dial. It will be available in October, exclusively at Michael Kors stores and via its website.
