Gallant & Jones, founded by Gwyneth “Jones” Parks and Tamra “Gallant” Devine in 2009, creates outdoor furniture with Vancouver in mind. The fun, brightly-patterned, 100 per cent cotton fabric used for the Panjin deck chair has a special coating to protect it against UV rays and stains. After being sewn into pillows and slings by Vancouver artisans, the fabric is then put on dowels and attached to a locally-handcrafted, rot- and water-resistant white oak frame. The dowels and fabric are removable, making them easily swapped with another design, washed, or stowed away for next summer’s use. The backyard has never looked more inviting.
