At Harvest Time, B.C.’s Cranberry Bogs Transform Into Fields of Floating Fruit

In October, Hopcott Farms in Pitt Meadows harvests its cranberries using water from a nearby river to flood the fields one bog at a time, then beating the vines with machines to release the berries. Floating booms guide the berries into a corner, where they are sucked into a cleaner before being trucked away.
