Salvatore Ferragamo always had a dynamic vision for the modern woman. His boundless depth of imagination lives on within his most spectacular creations, and today, his artistic ideologies are as vital as ever.
The job of the Florence-based brand in present day is to pay homage to its founder’s magnificent blend of fashion and art, while at the same time re-imagining its position in the modern era. This is perfectly implemented with the Ferragamo Studio Bag—the first signature handbag launched since the appointment of Paul Andrew as the brand’s creative director of women’s, and the perfect tool for the contemporary female. Produced in collaboration with European artist Ana Kras, this bag is a physical celebration of the Hollywood Boot Shop on Hollywood Boulevard: it was an up-and-coming Ferragamo’s first studio, and the very place he made a name for himself as a celebrity shoemaker.
Masterfully handcrafted from all-natural calfskin by Italian artisans, the Ferragamo Studio Bag is rich in details. With the brand’s iconic polished gancini fastenings and a studded base, the refined accessory is delicate and precise, the ideal piece to finish off any look. And because every woman deserves to have choices, the signature handbag comes in three sizes and a wide assortment of distinct colours developed for Andrew’s Pre-Fall 2018 collection. Also available are two limited-edition versions: one in metallic silver, the other in a brown and black colour-blocked design. Globally, only 95 of pieces were produced, with each edition numbered for this year’s 95th anniversary of the Hollywood Boot Shop opening. The main Studio collection is available at the Vancouver Ferragamo boutique, while the limited-editions are offered via special order.
Beautiful and autonomous, the bag is a timeless work of art, just like Ferragamo himself would have wanted.
