Louis Vuitton Supports Global Fight Against HIV/AIDS With RED Virgil Abloh Sneakers

We’re proud that our city of Vancouver is home to some of the most important and dynamic organizations in the global fight against HIV and AIDS, from the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, which has set the standard for HIV medicine, to the Dr. Peter Centre, which has provided a groundbreaking example of compassionate care for people living with HIV.

For this reason, we were happy last year when renowned fashion design label Louis Vuitton joined the ranks of companies supporting Red, the non-profit organization that has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for AIDS treatment and prevention in Africa through the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

This year, we’re just as pleased that Louis Vuitton will donate $200 to the Global Fund to fight AIDS for every pair purchased of its I Red Trainers. The classic menswear sneaker made its debut at the spring-summer 2019 show with Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of menswear Virgil Abloh, whose new collaborative LV² collection we recently featured in our Autumn issue.

The Italian-made sneakers feature an embossed monogram on white leather with bright red piping and are available in select Louis Vuitton stores starting December 1.
